Grace Fellowship Church
About Grace
Relationships Matter to God and Us.
Welcome to Grace Fellowship Church!
We are a community committed to making disciples who love God and love others. We’re everyday people learning to follow Jesus together—and discovering joy, hope, and purpose along the way.
Each week, we gather for worship to grow in God’s Word, and we take intentional time to care for one another through sharing praises and prayer. After the service, we head downstairs for coffee and snacks, building meaningful connections that help us walk closely with Jesus and with each other.
Our undershepherds—including co-teaching pastors Dave Garda and Huntley Brown—are devoted to the spiritual growth and encouragement of our church family.
As you explore our beliefs below, we hope you’ll sense the warmth of a church that genuinely loves God, loves people, and loves walking this disciplemaking journey side by side.

Our Beliefs
Main Purposes and Basic Functions of Grace Fellowship Church of Kaneville
Section 1 − The chief objective of GFK is to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31, Ephesians 1:3-14).
Section 2 − The consequent purpose of GFK is to edify one another, to build one another up to Christ-like maturity (1 Corinthians 14:26, Ephesians 4:16).
Section 3 − The parallel purpose of GFK is to involve ourselves in evangelism by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ through all that we do, say, and teach (Matthew 28:19-20, Act 1:8).
Section 4 − The particular distinctives of GFK are:
-
We will make Christ preeminent in everything we do, say and teach as a church.
-
We acknowledge a humble dependence upon God. We recognize that the church needs to be a house and body of prayer, and therefore, prayer will be a predominant activity of the church.
-
We recognize that God has given each local church the gifts necessary to function, and therefore we will nurture and select leadership from within the local church.
-
We will as a church endeavor to emphasize the use of financial resources for the needs of people such as widows, orphans, and the poor, as well as the spreading of God’s work such as the support of pastors and missionaries keeping the emphasis away from land and buildings.
-
We will strive as a church to function in harmony and unity by speaking the truth in love and avoiding all forms of gossiping, backbiting, and criticism.
-
We will as a church endeavor to establish traditions that honor Christ and promote the unity and welfare of the body.
-
We will strive to minister to the needs of all people as an intergenerational and inclusive church (Matthew 25:31-46, Acts 10:34-35).
-
We recognize the gifted women of the New Testament scriptures and we also recognize that God has placed gifted women within our congregation. Therefore, it is our desire to be intentional in involving women within the ministry of the church.
Article 3: Doctrinal Position
-
We believe in the eternal triune God, existing in three distinct persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, but of one divine spiritual essence.
-
We believe in the virgin birth, death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God who is full of grace and truth. We believe in His substitutionary atonement for the sins of humankind. He is fully God and fully man. He now sits at the right hand of the Father and is also now present with His Church. We believe in the imminent, personal, visible, and bodily return of Jesus Christ for His church.
-
We believe in the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit, who is the true and eternal God, to carry out the work of God in our age including the giving of gifts to the Church. The Holy Spirit uses God’s inerrant, infallible Word, the Bible, to reveal truth to His people.
-
We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as inspired by God, and infallibly inerrant as originally given by God and that they are the authoritative and the complete rule for our faith and life.
-
We believe that the body of Christ is made up of all true believers and that the local church is the manifestation of that body in this age. We believe that the purpose of the local church is to worship God, edify the saints, and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ through all that we do, say, and teach. We believe in believer’s baptism and in the Lord’s table as ordinances of the local church.
-
We believe in the existence of the prince of darkness, called Satan, who is the author of sin, evil, and rebellion towards God. In his rebellion, Satan and those angels that followed him were cast out of heaven. He and his demons today seek out those whom they may destroy, but will one day be cast into the lake of fire where they will be eternally punished.
-
We believe that God created man in His image and likeness. Humans are the unique creation of God, in that they are spiritually distinct from the rest of His creation. We believe that all human beings are born apart from God in a sinful state and in need of redemption through salvation. We believe apart from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, no person can be redeemed. Further, we believe in a literal and eternal heaven, the destiny of the redeemed, and a literal and eternal hell, the destiny of those without Christ.
