We call our leadership team “Undershepherds,” which is really just a different way of saying Elders, but with a reminder to ourselves that we are shepherds under Christ. These are men of the congregation gifted by the Holy Spirit to equip the community of believers for its full functioning.
The Undershepherds practice shared leadership, a model also known as “plurality of elders” where decisions are made by consensus. This requires the men spend significant time together in prayer and mutual exhortation. Although decision making is ultimately that of the Undershepherds, their wives serve along with them in many areas of ministry.
